woven belts and bands from around the Baltic

Date: Saturday 18th April 2020

Venue
Broughton Road Community Centre
66 Broughton Road, BD23 1TT
Skipton

Time: approx 11:30 - 12:30 pm.

My passion is woven belts and bands.  I have been researching this area for many years.  This research has taken me to many different countries and to a variety of museums from large and comprehensive to small and local. I would like to share my interest in some of the amazing woven treasures that I have found.
Meaning can be directly communicated through weaving words but there are more subtle ways of expressing a message.

The Craven Guild of Handspinners, Weavers and Dyers have a Facebook page.

They are a group of people who enjoy working with fibre to spin, weave, knit, braid, felt and talk textiles. They meet at Broughton Road Community Centre, Skipton on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10.30am. The programme is varied - sometimes there is a textile related speaker or workshop, or a skill share between members of the group, or simply a day of spinning and chatting. Contact them through the Facebook page.
